Volunteering
in Spain is a great opportunity to live in a different
culture while developing social skills, gaining work
experience, and improving your Spanish. You can choose
from a wide range of volunteer placements in social
work, healthcare, or environmental fields. While volunteering
in Spain you will increase your social awareness, gain
self-confidence, and build a sense of independence while
helping others.

Most placements are in or around Barcelona.

of program:
4 weeks
Start
dates:
Programs start every Monday, and participants should
be prepared to move into housing on Sunday. Positions
are available throughout the year, though many projects
are limited during August. Education projects are unavailable
during the summer break, June - August.

You will live in a shared apartment with a shared room.
Optional
Spanish Course:
You have the option of taking 20 hours of Spanish classes
to go along with your volunteer placement. Classes are
available at an additional cost.

Volunteer
placement:
Prior to your departure, you will have a confirmed volunteer
project. Most projects are in Education, Healthcare,
or Social Work.
Education Education
projects help underprivileged children reach a higher
education level and prevent school desertion. Your
activities will be divided between administrative
tasks, reception duties, and cooperating with the
organization's team. You may also be in charge of
a small group of school children, helping them with
their homework, giving them advice and organizing
activities to get their interest and enthusiasm. more

Health
Care There
are several organizations that need your assistance,
such as the Neuromuscular disease clinic, Children’s
Cancer clinic and Parkinson patients. The aim of these
projects is to improve the quality of life for patients
and their families. You may be involved in activities
such as conducting workshops, attending to patients,
escorting patients through daily activities, fund
raising, etc. more

Social Work
Social work projects include dealing with drug addiction
recovery to helping the handicap through horse therapy.
You will have the opportunity to communicate with
and support patients, providing them with a better
quality of life and helping them integrate into society.
