To be eligible for the Teacher Exchange Program, teachers must:
The U.S. Department of Education has specific guidelines to determine if your degree in your home country is equivalent to a Bachelor of Education in the U.S. We will review your application to determine if you meet this qualification.
Each state has different standards for their teachers. We will review your application to place you in the area where your qualifications would be best suited. Generally schools look for teachers with diplomas in the subject they teach in or at least 30 credit hours in that subject.
Teachers must have a minimum of three years teaching experience working with students between the ages of 5-18. School districts are more likely to hire teachers with current or recent teaching experience.
English proficiency will be evaluated from phone interviews between the teachers, AAG, and the school district which the teacher would potentially be selected to teach. Applicants are also asked to put time and care into their written applications because it will also be used as a means to determine the level of English proficiency. Applicants will also be asked to create a video that will show their personality and English skills.
